OBJECTIVES

The aim of the course is

  • • Equip church leaders with the knowledge and skills necessary for sound leadership.

  • • Enable the development of a sound understanding of leadership theories, leadership styles and behaviour.

  • • Enable you to demonstrate and apply the appropriate influencing process that will project you as a great person.

CG 2 Church Governance

OBJECTIVES

The aim of the course is

  • • Provide knowledge and competencies required to ensure understanding of the need for compliance with law and regulations of the church.

  • • Build knowledge and competencies that seek to ensure probity in church activities and achieve good church governance.

  • • Enable you to demonstrate and apply the appropriate influencing process that will project you as a great person.

Outcomes

At the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • • Use and apply knowledge of governance frameworks thereby ensuring compliance to law and regulation

  • • Analyse stakeholder interests and ensure that their needs and concerns are addressed. Demonstrate and apply professional knowledge in advising on the role of church officers (i.e. the chairman of the council of elders and the secretary).

  • • Give authoritative advice on the role of the council of elders/board, and its committees.
